HR Strategy to Keep Your Workers Happy

Human Resources (HR) is a major growth industry in the small business and corporate arena. Gone are the days where bosses got away with making ridiculous demands of their underpaid, unhappy and frequently on-strike workers. In these current times, good employees are hard to come by and even harder to keep - strategy planning is essential. If you research an effective HR strategy ahead of time, that takes into account your most valuable assets, you''ll be saving money, enhancing productivity and growing a more positive working environment!

Your Most Valuable Asset.

Believe it or not, it is not your product, nor is it your enormous brain or fantastic location - it''s your workers! Without them nothing happens - you can''t do it all! Without strategic management, retention of your staff can be difficult. Going through the ordeal of replacing an unhappy staff member can cost up to three times their original annual salary. Couldn''t that money be better spent on trusted, loy al employees that reflect your business values? On a quality HR strategy? On simply making them happy? Side effects of looking after your most valuable assets include; lower staff turnover, attraction of the ''right'' talent when you do need new people, higher productivity and output and increased customer satisfaction. Sounds like a terribly successful way of doing business doesn''t it?

What Workers Really Want.

So what makes for a dissatisfied worker? It could be one of many things... lack of advancement in their position, boredom with job content, low wages, long hours, managerial gripes, bullying, company dynamics or personal problems. What a way to spend eight hours, every day - for whatever reason, it''s pretty evident that this person will either leave or eventually stop doing their job effectively. A happy worker on the other hand, envisions a workplace where they are valued and feel appreciated, where they feel a shared ownership in the brand or company.

O pportunities for professional advancement, training in and access to new technologies, and a pay cheque that reflects their contribution to the business also helps! On a more human level, workers just want to communicate and feel heard once in a while. They''d love it if the boss would acknowledge that they have a life outside the office and be flexible for family and social commitments.

How You Can Deliver.

First and foremost, if you have a large company and are not trained in human resources yourself, get an expert in strategic management in to look after it. Whether on a contract basis, or a permanent addition to your team, an expert in HR strategy will ultimately save you time and money. Even if you don''t have a huge number of employees in your own small business there are lots of ways to get your staff morale flying high above the bar and raise the stakes for your success! Try being more flexible, both with hours and job roles. Allow timeshare or trading for pare nts or students; where they can either work from home or take a ''part time'' or different roles when outside pressures and commitments arise.

Work with people''s natural circadian rhythms; have rotating shifts for morning and afternoon people - as long as the same amount of work is getting done, does it really matter when? Offer genuine thanks for good work; this is so simple, but almost never done properly. Have readily available opportunities for advancement available, in-house or external professional development can only help give you an edge over your competitors. Any which way you look at it, an investment in your workers happiness via quality strategy planning, will reap major rewards for your overall business performance.

How to Improve Your Human Resources Performance

There are many important aspects of a business. If you''re a business owner or operator, then you probably already know that you have to wear many hats and perform many duties. Many businesses are not fully aware of the importance of human resources.

A solid human resources department can help cut your workload and allow you to delegate important tasks to others without fear that they won''t be done correctly. Proper human resources play a huge role in goal-achievement of a business.

There are also many other uses of a human resources department that you may not even be aware of. Are you using your human resources department to their fullest potential? Are you tracking the performance of your HR department to be sure they are properly pulling their weight?

HR performance measures are sometimes used to help an employee keep track of their development within the company and within their department. This is also a way for management to keep track of each employee, their growths, areas for improvement and more.

Proper monitoring of this can ensure your entire team is working at their absolute best at all times. This can also help the employer or management determine who is eligible for prizes, awards, promotions and more. But it''s about more than just tracking the statistics because to really be successful, you have to know what to do with the data.

You need to be able to track and manage the statistics and then implement a plan to help improve each and every employee or to get rid of those who are just dead weight to the company.

Here are some things you can do to improve your human resources performance:

- Use a system to track HR performance - Conduct regular investigations into the HR department and their workings - Be regularly involved in what your HR department is doing - Properly train them and nurture their skills - Offer rewards as motivation for a job well done - Boost worker morale with contests, parties, days off, etc.

There are many ways you can improve your human resources performance which will in turn, improve the performance of any new employees the HR department brings on, trains and works with. This creates a better, stronger work unit for your business as a whole. This is what team-building and upper level management is all about. This is how you can truly find success in your business.

Doing Business in Tulsa? Get Online

The Tulsa business community is well supported by its citizens, government, and media. Still, business in Tulsa is suffering from the same problems being experienced around the world. The collapse of the mortgage industry has had far reaching implications for all businesses, at home and abroad. Even with reports that Tulsa is the next "big thing" business-wise, business owners need to promote themselves more than ever before. One good way to promote your business is by joining an online directory.

The Yahoo yellow pages lists every business found in the phone directory, but all too often the information is outdated or incorrect. On top of that, they give premium billing to companies that are willing to spend more. With no way of verifying information or reliability with such a general data base, an increasing number of people are turning to rating services like Angie''s list. Of course, if you don''t run one of the few businesses evaluated by such services, you are out of luck.

A local online business directory can meet all these challenges. Only local businesses get listed, local people provide ratings and feedback, and current information is always available. Another benefit is that you can list your company under a number of headings. In a large data base, if the potential client doesn''t know exactly what words to search, your business may never appear.

Online directories are growing in popularity. Few people are willing to go find a phone directory, sort through all the headings and figure out which listing to call. There is no information about the company barring a one line entry much of the time. It can feel like a shot in the dark hoping that you make a good choice. When you go online you can pinpoint your goals much more quickly and potentially get immediate information about the company you are considering. Why go anywhere else?

Promoting Your Tulsa Business

We all know how difficult it is to attract new business in this economic downturn. While the pundits assure us that things are better than they seem, at your Tulsa business people still aren''t spending any money. If someone makes the decision to spend their money, you want to have the best opportunity to attract their business.

With that goal in mind, you might want to consider signing up for an online directory that features only Tulsa business. No company wants to compete with the listings that Yahoo or Google pull up. Their system of evaluating companies seems to have more to do with a company''s ability to pay larger fees or generate better search engine formulae than that of the average Joe.

By joining an internet business directory that serves your city alone, you ensure that your business is found quickly and frequently. You can opt to have your business listed under several different categories, increasing the odds of a hit. Ratings given by other locals are mo re important to people looking for a new company than ratings given to a branch hundreds of miles away. Additionally, encouraging local connections is good for all businesses, not just yours.

Using every tool available to promote your company will ensure your success. You want to be easily found. Unless your name comes up early in the alphabet, large search engines may require a potential client to scroll through many pages to find you. By listing in a city specific directory, you significantly reduce the number of competitors seen by a potential customer. The more quickly your company comes up, the more calls you will get.

It doesn''t take much to get listed in a local online directory. Companies that create these directories will help you design a listing, or several listings, that will help draw business quickly and reliably. Take some time to look at what is available online and join the revolution.

Tulsa Businesses Aren''t Well Represented Online

Did you know that there are 48 florists that come up on a Yahoo search for Tulsa? Or that less than half of them are actually in Tulsa itself? Tulsa businesses don''t even appear in the search until half way down the page. Is this the kind of directory you want to represent your company when you go online? Perhaps finding a directory that is interested in Tulsa is a better choice.

New directories are focusing on individual cities in the hopes that local businesses will get better promotion. If you need to compete with national chains before a local consumer even sees your ad, what chance do you have to attract that potential client? Not much. To successfully promote your business and your business community, you need to be featured front and center in any directory you join. Reviews of your work should be easily accessible and come from people within the community. After all, you want the best for your town, and that means a thriving business population.

A local directo ry is much more personal. People can find your business under one or more categories without slogging through dozens of entries. You can more fully describe what you service you provide, or relate your business philosophy without sounding trite. Your community wants to know who you are; the rest of the world isn''t so interested. By using an online directory, you will reach people who believe in getting results. Potential clients who search online don''t want to be bothered by the hassle of using the phone book because it takes too long and doesn''t tell them anything about the companies listed. Make use of the valuable tool to increase your revenue.

If you want to see Tulsa businesses well represented online, then join your local directory and see the results.

On RPattz "Employment"

During the 2009 MTV Movie Awards, Robert Pattinson (that dreamboat hunk aka Edward Cullen) said on his acceptance speech (for best fight with Cam Gigandet aka James) a "thank you" to Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke as he was accepted during the time he was completely unemployed. That got me curious completely. I mean a talent (and a damn good looking guy) such as dear RPatz should have been bind to work project after project. He is versatile as he is. I mean good looks, acting skills, singing voice and a knack for composing; he should have been busy at a time before accepting the role of the vampire lover Edward for Twilight, but he wasn''t-so he claimed.

So, for the love of Edward-err-I mean Robert, I tried to understand that "unemployed" term of his (with that English accent which made him more adorable) by doing an employment background check (improvised) on him just to understand this "glitch" (ok, I''m freaking exaggerating on that term). So here''s a die hard fan''s employment background check on the idol is cooler than cool and hotter than hot....

RPattz is a model, an actor and a musician. He became a model at the age of twelve but it only lasted for four years. He blamed this mostly on his masculinity. During the year 2007 he appeared in the advertising campaign for Hackett''s Autumn Collection. It was acting that really made Robert shine bright.

Acting is Rob''s pedestal. He started in the year 2004 as a supporting role for the television film Ring of the Nibelungs and in Vanity Fair by Mira Nair, where his later scenes were deleted and can only be seen in the DVD version. In 2005, he was supposed to appear in the UK premiere of The Women Before at the Royal Court Theatre but got fired instead and replaced by Tom Riley. His breakthrough role however came with the fourth installment of the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire which was released on the same year. In this film, Robert played the role of the quite and charming Triwizard''s Champion Cedric Diggory. It was this role that named him "British Star of Tomorrow" by The Times. Two television films came, entitled The Haunted Airman (2006) and The Bad Mother''s Handbook (2007). He also has a cameo role in the fifth installment of Harry Potter entitled Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix returning as his previous role.

2008 was the major breakthrough in Rob''s acting career. He had gotten the Best Actor Award in the Strasbourg Film Festival Award for the Movie How to Be as he played Art. Later on he was on his agents couch in L.A. looking for an American project. There was no role that made a boom like when he joined Harry Potter. But at that year, out of 3,000 who auditioned, Robert bagged the role of Edward Cullen, the vampire who fell in love with a human named Bella. This was the flick that made him brighter than ever before-a movie adaptation of the best selling series after Harry Potter. More than t hat it was in this film that the world knew him as a singer and composer as two songs from the movie''s soundtrack was sung by him (one of which he co-composed), although his movie How to Be showed his singing prowess already.

Before bagging the said role, Robert was planning giving up on acting, but after the smash hit of Twilight, and fans stalking him, his career was soaring higher than high.

This 2009 is another great year for Rob as he takes a challenging role as Salvador Dali in Little Ashes, which showed his acting prowess more than ever. Fans should also mark our calendars for the upcoming Twilight Sequel New Moon as he again reprised his role as Edward Cullen. He also has two upcoming films for 2010; RememberMe which is a post production, and the third Twilight installment Eclipse which is already being filmed.

Ha! That was something. So He was unemployed for a while but it can''t be denied that our beloved dreamboat really got everything else knocked ou t with his projects after his major hit vampire role. RPattz''s career is really breaking the dawn of great opportunities. This is one accomplished employment background check from a fan who wishes him nothing but the best.
